Why these codes never stop working

Most free generators

  1. Phone
  2. Their server
  3. Your page

The code points at their server, which forwards to your page. When the free trial ends, the forwarding stops and every printed code goes dead. One Reddit user paid $1.95 for a code, then got a bill for $49 a month to keep it working.

QRigin

  1. Phone
  2. Your page

Your link is written into the code itself. There's no server in between, so there's nothing to switch off and nothing to pay for later.

How to make a QR code

Making a QR code takes under a minute. The generator above runs in your browser, so there's nothing to install and no account to create.

  1. Paste your link. A website, a menu, a social profile or a Google Form. You can leave off https://; it's added for you.
  2. Pick a colour. Dark colours scan most reliably. If you choose one that's too light, you'll get a warning.
  3. Add a logo if you want one. Pick a ready-made logo or upload your own; both are free. It sits in the middle of the code, and the slider sets its size.
  4. Download. PNG for screens and documents, SVG for print. Scan it with your phone first to check it opens the right page.

A free QR code generator with no catches

Codes are free, your own logo included, and they never expire. They're made entirely in your browser, with no watermark, no download limit and no subscription.

How QR codes with a logo work

QR codes carry built-in error correction, so a phone can still read one when part of it is covered. When you add a logo, the generator switches to the highest error correction level, which survives losing about 30% of the code, and the logo stays inside that margin. Bigger logos still make scanning harder. Keeping the logo under 25% and testing on a few different phones before you print is the safe approach.

PNG or SVG?

PNG suits websites, slides, emails and documents; it downloads 1200 pixels wide. SVG is a vector format that stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a billboard. If you're sending the file to a printer, send the SVG.

Tips for printing QR codes

Where to use QR codes

Restaurant and café menus, business cards, flyers, product packaging, event posters, shop windows, review pages and WhatsApp chat links (wa.me/15551234567) are the most common. Anywhere you want people to get from something printed to a web page, a QR code does the job.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. Every code is free to create and download as PNG or SVG, as many times as you like: no logo, a ready-made logo, or your own uploaded logo. No account and no watermark.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. QRigin makes static QR codes: your link is written straight into the code, with no redirect server in between. The code works for as long as your link does.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up and no email required.

Can I change the link after printing?

Static codes can't be edited. If the link changes, make a new code and reprint. For an address that changes often, point the code at a page on your own domain that you control.

How do I scan a QR code?

On an iPhone and most Android phones, open the camera app and point it at the code, then tap the link that appears. On older Android phones, use Google Lens.

Are scans tracked?

No. The code goes straight to your link, so QRigin never sees a scan. To measure scans, add UTM parameters to your link and check them in your own analytics.

How do I get help?

Email krishavrajsingh@gmail.com with any question, including problems with a payment or a download. Include your checkout email if it's about a purchase.
